Today, July 26, Zimbabwe's morning magazine “Good Morning Zimbabwe” invites the Chargé d'Affaires a.i of Cuba, Yoisy Ford García, to remember the historical events of July 26, 1953 “Day of National Rebellion”. In the program, the diplomat expressed that Cuba celebrates that day with joy since it is one of the most important events in Cuban history, which marked the awakening of the Cuban people against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. She recalled the lineage of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, who was at the head of brave young men who carried out the assault on the Guillermón Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks.
The Cuban representative mentioned the activities carried out to commemorate the date and denounced the US blockade against the Caribbean island. She highlighted the unconditional support that Cuba has received from Zimbabwe in this battle and the excellent state of relations between the two countries.
