All is now set for the launch of the maiden edition of Firewood Jollof Festival in Lagos. The CEO of Firewood Rice Nigeria, Mrs Chizoma Chukwueke who announced this on Friday at a press conference in Lagos said the Festival will take place on November 30, 2024, at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos, Nigeria.
Mrs Chukwueke revealed that the festival would be an annual event, while emphasizing that there are plans to expand to other parts of Nigeria in the nearest future.
She opined that the uniqueness of firewood jollof rice has endeared their product to their teeming customers within and outside Lagos.
While highlighting the unique smoky flavour that sets apart their menu from other types of jollof rice, she said this festival aims to honour and preserve the rich heritage of Nigerian cuisine, which she believes is losing its authentic smoky taste.
